Tristan nodded and moved a loose strand of hair "I don't really do balls. But I owe a lot of gratitude to St Mungos and my little sister is here. So I have to keep an eye on her" she said as she bit into one of her sausage rolls "your mother did a lovely job" she said to Altair

Scarlett shook her head laughing "I'm always busy between school and my career. I usually do not have the time to meet people and entertain boys" she said with a confident tone to her voice

The girl had a point, but he hardly considered having the occasional dance with somebody from school was considered entertaining boys. Then again, Humphrey really didn't know much about this sort of thing so perhaps she was right. It's not like he had a wealth of knowledge from dating girls to pull from here. "Already picked out a career, wow. May I ask what?"

"I'm a model. Been doing it since I was 5. I started with Little Witch catalogs, that fashion magazine for kids before they reach hogwarts age? Then I started up with Wicked Witch Monthly" she said with a smile.

Humphrey blinked, he of course knew nothing about fashion or wicked witch monthly. "Oh, well congratulations. Really don't have a clue about either of those, but you are certainly pretty enough for it." he said, feeling his cheeks flush a bit red as those words left his mouth. Feeling embarrassed, he looked away and prayed she wouldn't comment on it.

Lily was lily, not only did she need to make a show of an entrance but she needed to show off with her dress, so Lily had spent hours picking out her dress, making sure it was just right, making sure her whole outfit was right. So finally when she got to that perfect dress, had her hair and makeup done up well...it was magnificent, to say the least. She walked into the room grinning, turning to the hostess she gave a slight bow, thanking her for the invite before walking off. She spotted Scorpius and Theo in the same area and walked over slowly, her heels clicking on the ground as she walked. "Really Scorp, you need to learn to be more careful you silly boy" Scorpius turned white stammering for a moment before going back to her friends. Lily smiling slightly at the reaction. "Didn't expect you to show" She stated watching Theo with a slight grin. She looked good, and she be damned if she didn't know it.

Scarlett blushed when he called her pretty. Sure, she was told she was pretty every day, but it was still nice and a bit overwhelming to hear it from people she barely knew. She pushed her her from her face and sipped more of her drink "well thank you very much. That is very sweet of you to say. So Humphrey, how do you enjoy being in hufflepuff?" She always liked to learn about experiences in other houses.

Humphrey blushed when she said it was sweet and took a large sip of his punch. Asking about his house they helped him relax, and he smiled. "It's great. We all try to work hard and help each other as much as we can. Sure we get a bit competitive, but I don't think we let it ruin the fun of making friends in other houses and what not. What's life like in Gryffindor?" he asked back.

Anastasia noted the time and revealed the violin case that she had hidden within the folds of her gown, rushing past Artemis and Baldwin to give them quick kisses on their cheek in greeting to which they laughed at the hurricane of a woman. She stood upon the stage, tapping at the microphone to make sure it was working and smiled towards the crowd, a small faint blush upon her cheeks. She didn't want to say anything, having the firm belief that it was the host and/or hostesses' who spoke first at any event and instead she lifted her violin to her chin and began to play, her dress shortening with the help of magic into a golden ballerina dress. The light hit her in such a way, the real diamonds on her dress cast light around the room and she began to dance as well as play. Her goal was to enchant, inspire love with the art of music and dance and attract more people onto the dancefloor.

The song Anastasia is playing; also some dance moves.

Anita smiled when it turned out she was right, and it had been Lacey that she’d heard. It seemed that the Ravenclaw girl had had a similar idea to her own. Staying out of the fray, and hoping for the best. “I’m glad to hear that,” she said happily, wanting to move closer but hesitant of what might be in her way. Is a less crowded room, she was able to listen and use her magic to feel out to a certain extent so that she at least wouldn’t run into something, but there was no chance she’d manage such a thing with so many people, and their magic, surrounding her. “I wasn’t going to come,” she agreed, “but I decided it wouldn’t do that I stay behind, and I do owe the hospital quite a lot.”

The blonde felt a hand on her arm, and though she couldn’t be sure who’s it was, she was able to tell that it was non-threatening. Anita recognised Colin’s voice easily, and she happily allowed him to lead her. “Come now, Colin, call me Anita. Bash couldn’t stand the thought of missing out on the famous food spreads they put on at these, so we simply had to come,” she joked, before smiling, “thank you.” The thanks was for both his compliment and his help, for she felt like she was in a better position than she had been. “What are you wearing tonight, Lacey?” the woman asked, not bothering to try and focus on the girl, as Lacey couldn’t see her anyway. Anita had realised that looking at people when she spoke to them was for their comfort more than anything else.

Altaïr frowned a little at the Slytherin’s words, wondering why she wasn’t enjoying herself. He did understand feeling like there was nothing to do and nobody to talk to, but he had just been in the same position and had started a conversation with her. “You’re doing it wrong,” he said good-naturedly, “you just find someone, stranger or otherwise, and start a conversation. Don’t worry about what they think.”

When the other girl spoke, Altaïr chuckled and nodded his understanding. “I don’t enjoy them much either, but the food’s always good and it gets more fun as the night goes on,” he said, taking a bit from his food as she had, “I’d love to say that I was looking out for my little sister, but honestly, she’s probably more responsible than I am.” The Gryffindor smiled and said, “thanks. She put so much work into it, and it’s really paid off.”

Scorpius hadn’t even responded to Theo’s words, when a familiar red head approached them. She had been the object of his searching mere moments before, but somehow he had missed her enter. His gaze was wide as he took her in, barely noticing that the other Slytherin had walked of to re-join his friends. After allowing himself a moment, he straightened his features and smirked. “Well, Potter,” he said, “looking lovely, as always. Of course I’m here.. I’m not the one who’s been missing in action lately.”

"The food is quite enjoyable" the young ravenclaw said with a smile on her face "it seems your sister is being taken care of by my nephew" she said pointing to the two people they were currently talking about "jace is a good kid. So you have nothing to worry about. I'm Tristan, by the way, in case you didn't know. Tristan lycanthe" she said pushing a ringlet of brown hair behind her hair "the music is lovely. Do you dance, Altair?"

Macey just sighed. She knew very well that she might do things wrong. Balls have never been her thing anyways. "Maybe yeah. I shouldnt care about those things. Anyways the food is here yes good. I have spend too much near it already," she said there now. "I think I will leave you two here. And will find maybe someone else to talk. You guys guys go and dance. I'll be fine," she added there. She felt there awkward really. She just didnt wanna be like thirdwheel there.

Altaïr smirked slightly as the Ravenclaw spoke about the boy who was talking to his sister. To be entirely honest, he hadn’t seen their interaction, but not that he had he couldn’t help but narrowing his eyes a little. He wasn’t really a protective brother, but since his two other sisters had died recently, he couldn’t help the pike in his interest. But, as the girl spoke of her nephew, and he saw the look on Lyra’s face, he decided that she’d be okay. After his mother, Cassiopeia’s death probably his Lyra the most, and then when the baby didn’t… he cut of his thoughts before he became upset himself, and said, “I haven’t seen her look like that in months. I have no intention of ruining it.” He looked at the girl for a moment, before nodding and saying, “I’m Altaïr Malfoy, but I assume you knew that considering your reference to my mother and sister. It’s nice to meet you, too.”

He didn’t miss her arguably subtle hint to dance, but he didn’t want to make the other girl in their small gathering feel unwelcome. Unfortunately, it seemed that she already did feel that way, before after he smile at her words regarding the food, she said that she would leave them to it. “Okay, I hope you end up enjoying yourself,” he said to her, before turning to Tristan, “so I take it you’d like to dance, then?”

Tristan nodded at his words "well I can assure you, my nephew is a gentleman" she knew why he got protective. She had heard what has happened to his sisters. If something like that were to happen to Kira she would be lost in the world. When the young slytherin left she frowned a bit "I guess we made her feel left out. As for a dance I would love to" she said smiling up at him.

Draco had been keeping an eye on everything to take some of the stress off his wife. She had been distant lately and he knew why. He wanted to close off from the world too, but he had to stay strong for her and for their kids. He was the man of the house and he had to act like it. He walked past his daughter talking to a boy which raised suspicion but he left it alone. He walked over to his wife and pressed a kiss to her cheek "you look beautiful, dear"

Macey yes felt kind of awkward and left out there. She didn't really feel like that she should be there. So she left to get herself something to drink instead. She needed it after that amount of the drinks. She knew she should go find someone else to talk now but she wasn't really sure who. Anyways she will figure it out she had a drink. She has time still probably. She just knew she should talk with people more, she isn't actually so shy.

Elysium Kade had been there since the start, hiding behind a pillar with a glass of wine and with someone she could only consider a simple acquaintance who had escorted her to the event. "Leave." She muttered behind the glass and the moment Anastasia began to play, she sauntered into the crowd where she spotted her only friend aside from her brother. However, he was talking to someone. Awkwardly, she halted in the middle of the dance floor and stared, her eyes hooded as she felt an emotion she hadn't felt before. "How odd," She had whispered to herself as she continued to watch the most popular Gryffindor intently to the point she hadn't realised the crowd had parted around her as they noted the Azkaban marking burned into the skin under her collarbone.

Lacey immediately felt better once she knew her Headmistress was there. Having something in common with the woman who took her in and brought her to this most magical place really help the blonde to adjust, and quickly, as well as not being afraid to try to be herself as best as she could given the circumstances of her past that really derailed her personality. "I'm.... I'm glad you came, Madame," she said softly.

Hearing her Headmistress refer to the man as Colin, was relief she was feeling grew at knowing that the man was know by Madame Moore. She reasoned they must know one another pretty well if he could call her by her first name. When the Headmistress asked what Lacey was wearing, she paused and brought a hand up to feel what she was wearing. "The librarians picked it out for me. It's a jumper with a long sleeve shirt, leggings, and boots. I, uh, I don't know what color it is," she answered. Even if they had told her what color she was wearing, Lacey didn't remember and wouldn't have known what the color was anyways, since she'd never seen them. "Are you wearing a pretty dress, Madame?" she inquired, glancing towards where the woman's voice was coming from. While she had never seen a formal gown, she heard about them and liked the sound the fabric made when it moved.

"Fine, fine, Anita," Colin replied with a chuckle, "You are most welcome. Yes, the food is not to be missed. I, for one, plan to partake at some point. Granted, they have my favorite berry tea cakes." No matter how many times she told him to call her Anita, he always reverted back to calling her Madame or Headmistress. It was just a formality habit of his. Watching the two ladies interact, he watched how Lacey tried to tell her what she was wearing. When Lacey commented she didn't know the color, he smiled and offered his assistance. "Lacey's jumper is a charming grey and black speckled pattern, paired with a black shirt, leggings, and boots. It is quite lovely," he said. Then an idea struck Colin that brought a smile to his face.

"You know, my date backed out at the last minute. I would be honored if you both would accompany me as my dates tonight. If you both like, we can get a table and then partake in the wonderful goodies that are being offered," Colin said, his accent coloring his offer and even showing the smile he was giving the two ladies.

Scarlett smiled and looked around a bit "gryffindor is fun. We can be competitive as well. But we have fun. We play pranks and stuff on each other. Typical house mate stuff" she said as she finished her drink before eyeing all the snack on the table and picking up a pumpkin pasty "these are my favorite!" Humphrey watched her dig into the pastry with a hint of an amused smile showing. "Well, I suppose it's a myth that all models avoid carbs and sugar. Nice to know you're as real as the rest of us when it comes to good sweets." he said teasingly. Looking around, he noticed a plate of fudge and snatched off a couple pieces quickly, popping one in and moaning a bit in appreciation.

Humphrey nodded when she said that exercise was how she was able to afford her diet and still be a model, made sense really. Plus it helped her from getting too thin like he thought a lot were, so that was a good plus. "As do I, but I'm not near hansom enough to be a model nor is that my idea of a fun job. The spotlight is one thing I am happy to stay out of." he said with a chuckle.

Altaïr nodded at her words regarding his sister’s new friend. There was no reason to be concerned about Lyra, because the boy was only her friend and the Ravenclaw Malfoy could take care of herself. “I certainly didn’t mean to,” he said, because he always made an effort to be kind and welcoming to everyone, “but if that’s how she felt, there’s not much we can do.”

The blonde was in the motion of offering his hand for their dance when he caught sight of a small commotion on the dance floor. The hand dropped to his side, and his jaw a little slack as he took in the girl who had parted the crowd. People judged her, but Altaïr knew a side to her that none of them bothered to learn. The Gryffindor was torn, because he had just offered Tristan a dance, but he knew she would be able to find another dance partner with ease, but the same couldn’t be said for Elysium. He also knew how she gets with people she doesn’t really know. “I’m so sorry,” he said sincerely to the Ravenclaw, “can I come and find you later? My friend just arrived, and she’s alone..”
